One Community Philosophy
The foundational philosophy and culture of One Community is about advancing humanity and celebrating the human experience. This means working towards lives demonstrating living for The Highest Good of All, meaningful relationships, contributing to something greater than ourselves, accessing childlike playfulness and curiosity on a daily basis to be sponges of growth and creativity, reveling in and exploring the beauty that surrounds us, and structuring our lives to “be the change we wish to see in the world” because we know “we are the ones we have been waiting for.”

Following the vision and spirit of leaders that have already dramatically influenced the human story, like Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Thoreau, Tolle, Krishnamurti, and Gyatso, One Community is committed to bringing together the people of the world willing to dedicate to themselves, and to each other, a life of higher consciousness living for The Highest Good of All Concerned. To this end, the following principles are foundations of our infrastructure and culture:
FREEDOM TO BE WHO YOU ARE
The philosophy of One Community is that freedom to be who you are is a choice made much easier when your community accepts, loves, and appreciates you without the desire to ‘change’ or ‘fix’ you. We embrace diversity and recognize that for each of us to truly reach our ultimate potential and shine our full magnificence, we must be open to each other and accepting of one another. We wear our hearts on our sleeves and speak our emotions and minds from a place of love and truth so that others may do the same.
HOW YOU LIVE IS A CHOICE
The philosophy of One Community is that part of celebrating the human experience is having the choice to live and share living in integrity in every moment while seeing the effects of making that choice. Our focus is not that change needs to happen, but rather that change CAN happen; and we get to decide what kind of world and environment we wish to create and live in. Every action and every decision is an opportunity to decide the path we wish to take; so we choose to make that decision consciously and conscientiously.
A LOVING COMMUNITY
The philosophy of One Community is that we are by nature community creatures; and a loving community is the most healing, transformative and nurturing place the human soul can play, learn, grow, and evolve in. Community is our greatest gift to each other and ourselves and the key to our spiritual evolution and the evolution of humanity as we work together to create what is possible.
HONEST, COMPLETE, AND TRANSPARENT COMMUNICATION
The philosophy of One Community is to be as transparent and completely open as possible. From our open source foundation of information sharing, to our detailed goals and plans for achieving them, to our interactions with each other; we believe creating a place where people are honest with each other and the world makes sense and we are pledged to accountability with each other, and everyone we interact with.
TIME SPENT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
The philosophy of One Community is that it is important to create the space for time spent with friends, family and community, and make it a priority. We are committed to practical rituals such as group dining, sunrise and sunset classes, working in teams, and music and story telling; all designed to bring us together daily in order to spend quality time with our friends, family, and community.
WE ARE ALL CONNECTED 
The philosophy of One Community is that we are all connected to each other and Mother Earth. We exercise a culture of conservation and sustainability with the belief that people given the opportunity will always choose what they feel is the right choice. As a result we foster an environment for The Highest Good of All founded on responsible decision making with regard to ourselves, each other, society and the planet.
TIME SPENT IN NATURE
The philosophy of One Community is that time in Nature is a precious gift. It is healing, energizing and something to be honored and grateful for. We are committed to a life of communion with Nature and we respect Her as a living organism, host and part of our community; choosing to preserve Her pristine state and live in cohesion with Her as much as possible.
SOMETHING GREATER THAN OURSELVES
The philosophy of One Community is that what we are creating, and what it represents, is much greater than us as individuals, and even greater than the sum of its parts. Thoreau said, “heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads” and we see the purpose of life as a realization of that and, as Buckminster Fuller said, “we are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.”
WE WORK AND GROW TOGETHER
The philosophy of One Community is to impact the world as much as possible and help everyone in our community achieve and celebrate their personal vision of abundance. To do this we look to each other for assistance, guidance, and input because we recognize that each of us has a unique and diverse skill set that enriches our community and provides a different perspective. With this as part of our unique culture and philosophy we make it a point to recognize and value helping and being helped equally as growth and contribution experiences.
DEMONSTRATING HOW AN EMPATHIC CIVILIZATION RELATES TO ITSELF
