Diversity

One Community is committed to a sustainable development theory based on the ideas and philosophies of great leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, and the Dalai Lama by celebrating diversity as a foundation of community consciousness, global change, and for The Highest Good of All thinking. On the community level this means creating an environment without bias towards gender, race, religion, politics, sexual preference, age, culture, or lifestyle. On the global change level this means recognizing that we are all a part of One World Community and the more we embrace the diversity of backgrounds and ideas globally, the greater our collective, creative, and combined forward movement potential. This is the future of our planet and why diversity is one of our foundational principles of success.

DIVERSITY FROM A COMMUNITY PERSPECTIVE

Diversity, One Community, HarmonyDiversity has always existed, what is different now is the number of people waking up and not only recognizing that other people’s lifestyles and choices are their right, but that it is fun and a true gift to ourselves to celebrate them! Despite the bi-partisanship in our government, the conflict and war in our world, and the continued examples of bigotry and intolerance, more and more people are choosing not to participate in this paradigm and are instead allowing other people to be who they are. We are creating a space not only committed to this, but founded upon it.

One key to this value of celebrating diversity, espoused by many forward thinking and spiritual leaders of our day, is recognizing the subjectivity of reality. This viewpoint examines the differences in people’s ways of viewing the same thing and notes that completely opposite points of view are both true from their respective perspectives. From this approach all realities, religions, lifestyles, etc. are accepted as correct and perfect for the people believing in them, irrespective of personal beliefs.

With this mindset we are creating a community and a pledge to help each other remember that diversity is beautiful, and being the change we want to see in the world and living for The Highest Good of All means accepting others as we desire to be accepted. This means a community founded on non-judgment, fairness and equality that we further support with consensus governing, specific guidelines and support to help people with conflict resolution and communication of boundaries, and a commitment to both freedom and diversity as foundational One Community values.

DIVERSITY FROM A GLOBAL CHANGE PERSPECTIVE

global diversity, one community, community diversityOne Community’s sustainable development theory, founded on diversity, rests on these basic tenets: celebration of our differences starts within the individual thinking and acting for The Highest Good of All, is supported by the community, and will be reflected most positively in our interaction, collaboration, and ability to affect change as part of One World Community. We recognize that no matter how much any individual believes they are thinking outside the box, they are still only thinking outside THEIR box; and the more we embrace diversity the more we engage with thought processes operating outside entirely DIFFERENT boxes. This is essential to our flourishing culture of growth, creative collaboration, and entrepreneurship because it infuses it with different skills, talents, and views.

With the goal to constantly expand upon and beyond that which we already know, we see screening for an unbiased mindset, and actively inviting diverse people to join this movement and fully release their potential in the unique environment provided, as one of our highest priorities. Everyone has natural gifts and talents – things they love to do and naturally do well – bringing these talents and gifts together and sharing them with each other and the world is our approach to social architecture and evolving sustainability to create the open source blueprints for a sustainable civilization unlike anything currently in existence.

We believe we are all teachers and we are all students; and if the learning experience is to be a maximally enriching interactive activity that evolves the concept of a thriving environment, our environment first needs to be evolved. Putting aside preconceived notions about race, religion, politics, gender, sexual preference, and lifestyle so we can instead focus on learning from each other, loving each other, and creating a better future for everyone is a good start towards demonstrating living for The Highest Good of All. It is also the foundation of a sustainable development theory that we believe has the potential to transform people and the world.

"In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model.

You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called."
~ Buckminster Fuller ~
